Hello...and welcome to my blog! I'll tell you more about me on another day....but similar to "Jeopardy" perhaps, I'll get into the action first and into the mundane details of me later.....lol.
One of my interests is TV, and even the commercials that interrupt some of my favorite programming.
Writing of which, have you ever noticed how the same people pop up over and over in different commercials?
I certainly have ... and created this blog to celebrate them and learn more about them...
I also want to know who they are and to do so....I will need your help!
The first guy I am thinking of is a blossoming comic genius....no kidding...evident even in 30 second commercial spots.
He is the African-American gentleman who does a "Trading Places" like routine in a Bud Light commercial, and has also done spots for State Farm, Taco Bell (with the angry "lunch lady") and others.
Trading races, and genders for a moment another commercial All-Star is the white woman who drives an 18-wheeler to take advantage of a Domino's pizza sale and watches TV shows while waiting for her flight to arrive.
She is also in several other spots and has such a familiar face....I feel like I went to high school with her or something....
That wouldn't be all too uncommon...I attended one school with an eventual creator of "The Amazing Race" and a cousin of Danny DeVito, and another with the cousin of folk-rocker Jim Croce
More to come on my next blog....good night and thx for reading!
I guess I shouldn't fast forward through the commercials anymore. I always set my shows to record and start watching them about a half hour into the show so that I can avoid said commercials. But, I find this very interesting. I didn't notice these same people in numerous ads. I will now have to take a closer look. I think the advertising world should pay you. You have convinced this reader to actually watch and pay attention to their commercials.
